Welcome To MICC

This is not just a masjid for prayers rather it is a community centre for all. The Centre is committed to preserving an Islamic identity.

Molesey Islamic Cultural Centre (MICC) was founded in 2001 and has been serving the local Muslim community for over 22 years. There has been no Masjid within a five mile radius of our locality and we have been required to hire different venues for 5 times Salah, Jumu’ah, Eid and children’s classes up until until 2019.

This masjid is an opportunity to offer community care to our elderly, who have trouble travelling long distances and are unable to attend daily prayers; to our youth, who desperately need a youth centre to deter them away from anti-social behaviour and to sisters in our community by offering services led by them in order to empower and enable them and everyone to achieve their full potential in their spiritual, educational and vocational aspirations.

Within this masjid we hold the mandatory 5 Salah’s, Jumu’ah, Eid prayers and Taraweeh Salah during Ramadan along with Madrasah 3 days per week and many other social events for our brothers and sisters as well as the rest of the local community.

There are large number of Muslims in our surrounding areas that are in need of this masjid.

ramadan 2024

Discover the significance of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar, a sacred period cherished by Muslims worldwide. During this time, believers engage in spiritual introspection and rejuvenation, observing rigorous fasting from dawn until sunset for 29 or 30 days.

Commencing with the sighting of the new moon, Ramadan marks a period of devout dedication to religious practice. While the start and end dates may vary due to moonsighting variances, the essence remains unchanged.

As stated in the Qur’an: “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous” (Surat Al-Baqarah 2:183).

The purpose of this fasting ritual is evident: to foster righteousness. In Arabic, the Qur’an refers to this as ‘Mutaqeen’ – a state of godliness, piety, and righteousness. Fasting serves as a pathway toward spiritual elevation and closeness to the Divine, allowing individuals to embody the virtues of piety and God-consciousness.
